Mark Stimson named a strong squad with only Remi Sutton, who was cup-tied, and Lewwis Spence, unavailable, missing from the starting 11.
After a third minute booking for Mickey Parcell, both sides had early chances. A shot from Joe Christou went wide, and a Lewis Taafe shot met the same fate, and Kenzer Lee then headed wide as play swung back to the other end.
Play remained confined to midfield until, on 21 minutes, Callum Chafer made an excellent save to turn a near post header around for a corner, but otherwise chances were few and far between.
Joe Wright in the Enfield goal saved from George Purcell, and on 25 minutes Taafe sent in a shot from just inside the area, but over the bar. Davison then charged down Chafer’s attempted clearance, but Chafer recovered to make the save.
On the half hour George Saunders moved along the wing and although his cross found Jordan Clark, the shot was blocked by Youngs. Within a minute Purcell had a shot that drifted wide of the post.
Ten minutes from the interval a Sam Chaney shot went into the arms of Chafer, and there were no other opportunities at either end before half time.

Two minutes into the second period a Purcell shot was partially blocked by Joseph Payne, and Wright collected the loose ball.
Billy Bricknell, after a fairly quiet first half, had a snapshot at goal but Chafer was ideally placed to save.
On 51 minutes Saunders surged past Payne, and sent in a shot from a narrow angle, but over the bar.
Parcell then made tracks down the right and crossed for Sam Youngs but he volleyed the best chance of the game wide from six yards out. But Enfield didn’t have long to wait. Another Parcell run and cross found Davison ideally placed in the centre to finish past Chafer. 0-1.
Sean Marks had a goal ruled out for an infringement before Saunders, a constant danger to the opposing defence, sent an excellent ball across the face of the goal, which Sean Marks sidefooted wide from inside the 6 yard box.
Enfield doubled their lead on 65 minutes when Sam Chaney surged forward and fired his shot past Chafer and into the net. 0-2.
Hornchurch came back, and four minutes later, Wright made a good save from Marks.
Back at the other end Chafer tipped over a shot from Bricknell. Glenn Wilson headed the corner behind for a second corner, which was cleared upfield.
With fifteen minutes left to play manager Mark Stimson sent on Sonny Dutton in place of Sean Marks.
Sam Hatton became the next Enfield player to get a yellow card, and a minute later a Saunders cross was headed wide by Charlie Stimson.
On 83 minutes James Mulley replaced Sam Chaney for Enfield, and on 87 minutes Ilal Sayoud replaced Joshua Davison.
In the final minute of normal time, Enfield had a free kick from twenty yards out, but it was straight into the wall, and cleared. Enfield then used their final substitution, when Aaron Greene replaced Lewis Taafe.
