Three days before big FA Cup matches for both clubs it was hardly likely that either of us would field full strength sides, but Thurrock's side was a mixture of youth and experience and it wasn't long before they started to dominate. 

Shane Thompson opened the scoring with a shot curled in from the corner of the area in the 10th minute and Simon Martin put them further in front 10 minutes later when he took advantage of our inability to clear and scrambled the ball home from inside the 6 yard area.  The game looked effectively over on 34 minutes when Thurrock's third was headed home by Thompson from a far post cross.

We came more into the game in the second half and had one or two long spells of pressure in and around the Thurrock box. The home side coped comfortably, though,  and 5 minutes before the end Danny Dobson  was put through to slot home past Rhys Madden to make it 4-0.
